One Foot in Front of the Other

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Proverbs 4:23

A strong, healthy heart needs exercise to keep it pumping like it should.  A good way to start an exercise plan is to begin walking.

Walking has many other benefits besides keeping your heart muscle strong.  It can help you manage your weight and strengthen your bones and muscles.  It can help prevent or improve heart disease, lower  blood pressure, and help control blood sugar.  A nice walk can help improve your mood and reduce stress and tension.

It's easy to get a walking habit started.  No equipment is needed.  God gave you everything you need when He created you with two legs and two feet.  Start by just putting one foot in front of the other and walk a few extra steps a day.  Before long you will be walking a mile or two.  Grab a friend and go for a walk.

But they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31
